Recently, Max Azria and private investor Nicolas Berggruen acquired the bankrupt Karstadt company. Max Azria said that the idea of ​​acquiring Germany’s largest department store chain is very good. Max Azria believes that the takeover of a German department store chain by an American company has undoubtedly greatly increased the confidence of the American people.

In this transaction, Max Azria will receive a 20% stake in Karstadt, and it is said that he does not intend to close the existing 120 stores and 25,000 employees. Max Azria said: "We will slowly change, we point a direction and then greatly improve the situation."

Max Azria stated that now that Karstadt's debt has been repaid, sales are expected to reach $4.5 billion this year and the profit will be $180 million.

Azria said plans to add more modern elements and styles to Karstadt's existing portfolio. Only three Karstadt stores will sell Azria's three brands, BCBG, Max Azria and Hervé Léger. Azria currently operates six BCBG Max Azria stores in Germany. He claims to be familiar with the German market in the future.
