Cotton reproduction wait and see atmosphere
In recent days, the price of cotton fabric in the textile market of China Textile City has continued to climb, showing strong momentum. The demand for thick 10S × 7S, 108 × 56 cotton padding "Khaki Drills" remained robust even before the holiday, with prices ranging between 14.00 and 14.60 yuan per meter depending on batch size and payment method. However, during the holiday period, some batches were sold at just 14.00 yuan per meter, while others exceeded 14.60 yuan, with certain shipments reaching as high as 15.00 yuan per meter.
For slightly thicker 16S × 12S, 108 × 56 cotton dyed "Khaki" fabrics, the pre-holiday prices were also in the range of 14.00 to 14.60 yuan per meter. But during the holiday, larger batches or cash-paying customers saw prices increase by around 0.20 yuan per meter. Smaller lots or those with delayed payments saw even steeper rises, up to 0.80 yuan per meter, and in some cases, even 1.00 yuan per meter.
Before the holiday, most cotton fabric varieties in the China Textile City market were gradually gaining acceptance, and sellers started to show more enthusiasm in their marketing efforts. However, during the holiday, the continuous supply of cheap gray cloth and the high base prices from previous periods caused some fabric types to see further price increases. Additionally, the output of the printing and dyeing industry remained behind schedule, which contributed to a renewed upward trend in the asking prices of cotton fabrics across the textile city. This combination of factors has created a dynamic and somewhat unpredictable market environment for cotton textiles.
