The skull cap is a cap that was popularized during the early 20th century. The skull cap was constructed of 4 to 6 sewn together panels to make a cap. The sewn together panels were usually made of different colors to make them look distinct. Fraternities popularized skull caps and would normally incorporate school colors to construct there skull caps. Skull caps are also known as beanies and can be still seen worn today for warmth and style. Skull caps make great winter hats, working hats, snow hats, ski hats and much more. Watch Caps
A watch cap is a tight-fitting knit cap worn in cold weather. Watch caps are a one size fit most cap. The watch cap was regularly worn by sailors of the US Navy and the US Coast Guard during extreme weather conditions. The watch cap was also worn by soldiers under helmets for comfort. Government issued watch caps are 100% wool, but other textiles may be used for commercial products. The watch cap is often made so that the bottom part is folded up, though it can be pulled down low over the ears. Alternatively, the watch cap may simply cover the head without being folded over; this is typically the case with watch caps featuring a brim or visor. Some watch cap models are made to fit the top of the head snugly, while others leave a bit of material loose on the top of the head. Watch caps were warmer and more versatile than the previous standard M1941 wool knit caps, which was why soldiers in the US Army favored them. The watch cap is now worn by many people for warmth, comfort and style. The watch cap can now be seen in a variety of colors and imprinted logos. Watch Caps are also known as knitted skull graphic hats, winter skiing toque head wear, snow monkey beanie, sock shape attire, stocking toboggans, etc.
