Spain's textile clothing industry

Spain is the fifth largest textile country in Europe. However, since the cancellation of global textile quotas in 2005, the overall industry has shrunk by more than one-third.

In 2010, the output value of Spanish textile and garment industry was 35.8% lower than that in 2005, of which the textile industry declined by 35%, the garment industry declined by 36.5%, and the overall number of employees decreased by 38%.

In Spain in the first half of 2011 (in the first half of 2011), 45 textile companies filed for debt restructuring, including: Artesanos Camiseros, Dusen, etc., which are the same as the same period of last year, indicating that the Spanish textile industry has fallen to the bottom. The total number of employees is 117,000, of which the textile industry accounts for 39% and the garment industry accounts for 61%. The textile industry is mainly concentrated in Catalonia and Valencia. In the two autonomous regions, clothing is distributed throughout Spain, mainly in Catalonia, Valencia, Madrid and Galicia.
